Is it time to reboot your life or the lives of your family members, close friends, employees or co-workers? Are you so wrapped up in the minutia of daily life that you’ve forgotten how to actually live your best life? Is your head or your computer or your desk so filled with to-do lists that you sometimes want to scream?
Perhaps there is no permanent cure for this condition unless you want to go live on a remote island or mountain somewhere. We’re all for yoga and meditation and exercise, but can you hear it and smell it, other than grunts and sweat? We recommend you go back to nature. It doesn’t have to be with us on our luxury private tour of Yosemite National Park. Just go somewhere you can’t hear a car, an email ding or a text message coming in. Somewhere with trees and plants and birds singing. A place with rushing streams and the scent of pine.
We have so many advantages in the 21st century—fast travel, amazing electronics, scientific and medical advancements, indoor plumbing. But most of us are missing something our forebears had—the ability to be alone, truly alone, to think and feel and create. It’s not the same sitting alone at your computer as it is standing in the forest, taking in the sounds and fragrance and essence of the wilderness. Truly, it can touch your soul.
On our trips in Yosemite, fellow travelers have told us how the experience has brought them closer together with their fellow travelers and how it has soothed their minds and somehow invigorated them. Imagine seeing the giant sequoia trees in Mariposa Grove, the oldest of which is approximately 3,000 years old; the breathtaking Yosemite Valley; impressive granite monolith El Capitan; and the stunning Yosemite Falls. How can that not change you? Get with it—reboot.
