Below is a sample itinerary of your introduction, with the possibility of customization due to your group size and/or special requests.
New Bay Area
- Travel DayWelcome to San Francisco
- You may have been to San Francisco before, but never with the mindset your family will be moving here. Ask yourself, what neighborhood would you like your family to live in and why? What are San Francisco’s best schools, restaurants, sports teams or weekend hiking adventures? Sit back and relax as we show you the Bay Area from a local’s point of view.
Day 1: Private San Francisco Tour
- 9:30 a.m.Neighborhood Tour
- Revel in the city’s distinct neighborhoods with a private San Francisco tour, one that will take you to the famous landmarks paired with a local’s insight. Yes, we’ll show you Lombard Street, the Golden Gate Bridge and more, with a combination of hidden treasures to truly understand the city.
- 11 a.m.“The Bridge That Couldn’t Be Built”
- Can you feel the excitement mounting? The Golden Gate Bridge – hands down one of the most iconic landmarks on earth – is waiting for your best pose in front of its colorful Art Deco towers. Take your sunny photos now; the once-longest suspension bridge in the world may be covered in fog at any moment.
- 1 p.m.Seafood Cafe
- After crossing the Golden Gate, we’ll stop at a cozy café by the sea, giving you time to reflect on what you’ve just witnessed and how it influences your family’s relocation decision. Would you rather live near a popular tourist attraction or reside in a quiet neighborhood? How long would you like your commute time to the office to be?
- 3 p.m.More San Francisco
- After your main San Francisco introduction, we’ll venture deeper into the city, specifically to the Avenues, Golden Gate Park, Duboce Triangle and more. Have you ever seen and taken a selfie in front of the 16th Avenue tiled steps?
- 7 p.m.Chinatown Dinner
- Finish up today with a scrumptious dim sum dinner in Chinatown. As you enjoy your dumplings, think about how you now understand San Francisco from a local’s point of view: the neighborhoods, culture and more. Feel well-informed to make a family decision on your big move to San Francisco.
- Looking For More Understanding?
- Continue with us on Day Two as we show you Silicon Valley or Berkeley, followed by more of the day tailored to you, whether you desire more tourist attractions or even a sporting event.
Day 2: Alcatraz and the Suburbs
- 7:30 a.m.Rise and Shine
- This morning promises to be a memorable one with Alcatraz Island on deck, San Francisco’s former, maximum-security prison. Remember to dress in layers: The City can become chilly in an instant, with fog rolling into the bay faster than you can say “Rice-a-Roni.”
- 9 a.m.Alcatraz Island
- As you explore Alcatraz, glance around the bay at the seaside neighborhoods of Marin County, Richmond and Berkeley. Not everyone relocating here chooses to live in San Francisco proper. Will your family be happier in one of the outside neighborhoods? Today, we’ll find out.
- 2 p.m.Across the Bay
- After choosing a lunch location that’s right for you from one of San Francisco’s 3,500 restaurants, we’ll make our way to Silicon Valley. We’ll do an orientation tour of Stanford, Googleplex and the other famous tech campuses, with nearby neighborhoods to check out. Feel the traffic flow and imagine your commute time to the city. Understand what it would feel like to live in Silicon Valley.
- 7 p.m.Last Dinner
- Now you have a strong grasp on the Bay Area and where your family may want to live, and not live, all in a weekend, with a local to show you the way. Starting off on the right foot in a new city is easy when you go with the right hosts.
From here, the type of California introduction you desire can include more or less, inside of San Francisco or not, business or leisure, sporting events or more. And that’s just the Bay.
For the explorers at heart, we can continue to Yosemite National Park for hiking, along the majestic California coastline to Big Sur for photography or plan a road trip to Los Angeles – a multi-day adventure for 1-3 guests. For larger groups, vintage VW Bus Road Trip, anyone?
The point is our travel hosts can help you determine what’s right for you. Give us your time frame, your wishes, Your group size, and we’ll create a San Francisco corporate retreat for you. We can efficiently show you California in the allotted time, without all the fluff. Request A Retreat »
